Asthma and pregnancy

Hello!
I returned to the forum after several years away. Glad to be back!
I am sixth months pregnant. Combined with weather changes (mainly cold, dry air), after a quiet period, asthma is starting to show up again and is gradually getting worse. I have been increasing my symbicort dose, according to my pulmonologist's advice; it helps but some symptoms are still there, especially after exercise or other physical effort.
I am a little worried because of the fast rate of progression, compared with usual pre-pregnancy winters. I hope it doesn't get too severe by the time I give birth. Do you guys have any tips?

  1. Hi, ! Congrats on your new baby! We do have a couple articles focused on pregnancy you can take a look at:

    https://asthma.net/living/pregnancy

I know these are pretty general, but each person is different and so is each pregnancy. Your best bet is to check in with both your OBGYN and your pulmonologist to see if they recommend any changes -- maybe they can even consult with one another.

Keep us posted and take good care of yourself! All the best. -Melissa, team member
