Fasenra for eosenophillic ashma

I began the initial load of Fasenra, and then began the injections every 8 weeks. After my load and I had my first injection that began the series, I had a terrible reaction of chest pain that radiated to my jaw. It lasted 15 minutes than I was seemingly ok. The doctor has said no more Fasenra, and they ask me to go to emergency room and be checked. They found no problem, and now I'm scheduled for heart testing. If these test are ok, I want to try Fasenra again, as I feel much better with it. Has anyone else had this reaction? how can I find out the safety of this drug. I could breath fine and no other issues.

  1. Goodness, that sounds scary! I can understand why your doctor would say no more Fasenra with a reaction like that. I'm glad you're getting heart testing, just to be safe. Please let us know how that goes.

The best place to learn about common reactions to a medication is at the official website for the medication or manufacturer. In this case, that's www.fasenra.com.

I didn't see anything on there about chest pain as a common side effect, but that doesn't mean it's never happened. You can always talk to a pharmacist or get opinions from different doctors before you make a decision. Every person is different, so it's hard to say exactly how you might react if you try again.

Hoping for the best for you! Keep us posted. -Melissa, team member
