Gallbladder Surgery

Hi! Has anyone had gallbladder laparoscopic removal with severe asthma?
How did it go? Was you worried about anesthesia and breathing?

  1. Hi there, thanks for posting your question here. I do hope someone from our community responds. In the meantime, I'm linking an article from our website that discusses surgery as an asthmatic. Surgery is worrisome enough before you add the component of asthma. An Experience Preparing for Surgery as a Person with Asthma Let us know if you have any further questions. -Lauren (Team member)

    1. Just to give you some additional peace of mind, when you talk to the anesthesiologist ahead of your surgery, they will choose the best method to keep you safe while keeping in mind your asthma. They will be right next to you the entire time watching your breathing carefully and ready to give you any treatments you might need. And then the nurses in the recovery area will monitor you closely afterward. I hope that helps. It's naturally really stressful to go through a surgery but you will never be fully alone at any point. That's always been reassuring to me. Do you have a surgery date? -Melissa, team member
