The man who smelled too sweet...

Before I retired, I was a line supervisor at an auto company supervising a group of employees in assembling parts to vehicles. I worked with a design/assembly engineer who was doing a time study on how long it took to assemble parts to a vehicle. Well, he stopped to ask me, "Why do you keep backing away from me when I come to check the job? Is there some way I've offended you that you keep backing away from me?" Now, I'm embarrassed, so I explain that, "I'm allergic to most perfumes and colognes. I apologize if I've upset you, it was unintentional but, it was just so I could breathe". Turns out, the man has no sense of smell and did not know he was applying too much. So, he asked if I could give him an idea of how to use cologne. I said sure, all you have to do is put a few drops on your hand, clap them together, and then apply it to your skin. Remember, with scents, less is more. The next day he came by my job, and asked what I thought. I told him it was perfect and he walked away happy, thanking me for solving the problem of how less is more. We had a better working relationship after that.
