Hi everyone, I hope you can help me. I was recently diagnosed with asthma. It was certainly a shock but here we are. I wondered if anyone here suffered with small chest pains? And are these caused by asthma?
Thank you.

You may be aware we cannot provide medical advice or diagnostics over the internet (for your own safety), but your concern certainly warrants a reply.
There are many symptoms that may be associated with this disease - one of them is typically reported as chest tightness. Is this what you meant when you said 'chest pains?'
It is important to keep in mind that 'chest pain' can be caused by any number of medical conditions. The various etiologies of chest pain can be many, and can also vary considerably from patient to patient.
If you are experiencing chest pain, and the pain has been persistent or has worsened, this may be reason enough to reach out to your private medical doctor (PMD).
What do you think?
If there is anything we can assist you with, please let me or any other moderator / team member know. You are always welcome here in our online community.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Yes I think I will mention it to my doctor just to be on the safe side. I think I need to find out what is normal for me regarding asthma symptoms, it's certainly a learning curve!
Thanks again

I think it is prudent of you to plan to bring this up to your physician. As we get to know the particulars of our own condition, it makes it easier to manage it in concert with the physician providing our care. You will be surprised at how quickly you will learn so much of what there is to know about this disease. And naturally, we will be here to assist you in any way that we can.
Please do check back and let us know how this all turns out for you.
Warm regards,

It was mot clear to me. When it first happened. I went to my primary doc to ask questions about this as the pain did not feel normal to me.
In the end, it was my asthma. But, she gave me things to look for in case it was NOT my asthma acting out.
Go to your doc and inquire for yourself. They know your medical history. I could list my "symptoms" to look for, but these are different for each person. Plus, things/symptoms for other illnesses/disease can be different from male to female, ethnicity, age, medical status, etc...
Good luck! I hope you find answers!

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
