Dont have any

Does anyone with asthma. Take fluoxetine. I suspect. Its causing asthma

  1. Hi there, thanks for posting your concern. We don't have any articles in our archives that link Fluoxetine to asthma and so I'll contact our editorial department to see if that is a possibility. If you have concerns about your new symptoms, your best bet would be to contact your doctor and discuss with them how you are feeling. Let us know how you make out. -Lauren (team member)

    1. Hi. I'm sorry that you're having issues with your fluoxetine. Did you just start taking it recently? I did a search and difficulty breathing or other asthma symptoms are not typical side effects. Don't stop taking the medication without a doctor's guidance because that can cause its own problems, but I would definitely reach out to your doctor right away if you haven't already -- maybe it's an allergic reaction. There are many other options in that medication class that you can try. And of course, there's always the possibility that it's not related to the medication and your asthma is flaring for some other reason.

How has this week been? I hope you can get to the bottom of this and find the right medication for you. Keep us posted. -Melissa, team member
